Cyberport Startup Alumni Association (CSAA) Connects the World Dinner was successfully organised on 21 June 2017 at Hotel ICON. Mr. Stark Chan, Chairman of CSAA, firstly to have a welcome speech to all guests. Mr Derrick Ngan, Vice-Chairman of CSAA introduced the whole-year events. It was our honour to have Dr. David Chung, Under Secretary of the Innovation and Technology of HKSAR, and Mr. Herman Lam, CEO of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, to have the remarks. All committees of CSAA shared a one-minute introduction to all guests to introduce themselves and their role in CSAA too.

CSAA introduced its new structure of 9 clusters and 4 functional sub-committees to its members.  With the ice-breaker game, members got to know more each other and the organisation. Derrick Ngan, CSAA Vice-chairman, Rex Ma, Lead of Community Services & External Affairs Functional Sub-Committee, and Data Ng, Lead of Membership & Administrative Functional Sub-Committee, gave a welcome speech and update to the participants.

To mingling and building business connections with Hong Kong and Shenzhen CCMF, CSAA has organized a Reunion Gathering Luncheon on 26th August 2016 at Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen.

The luncheon has invited all co-organizers, partners, current and previous CCMF grantees, guests from start-ups and Guangdong universities. Dr. Tao Charm, Chief Public Mission Officer from Cyberport, Ms. Lu Hui  from Guangdong Software Industry Association and Mr. Zhang Ke-Ke from Shenzhen-Hong Kong Union for Promoting Science & Technology have the remarks during the event. CSAA alumni also shared their CCMF experiences to the participants.

Cyberport Startup Alumni Association (CSAA) Annual Dinner was successfully organized on 18 November 2016 at The Grand Hall. Over 300 people joined the annual dinner, including alumni, Cyberport’s partners, VCs, investors, Government officials. It is our honor to have Dr David Chung Wai-keung, under secretary of the Innovation and Technology Bureau and Mr. Peter Yan, Director of Cyberport to have the remarks. Some business partners and investors such as Mr. Tony Tung, Gobi Partners of Alibaba Investment Fund, Mr. Mark Chan, director of Citicorp International Limited and Mr. Chan Sze Lok from Amazon Web Services were also invited to join the event. Award presentation ceremony of Cyberport SZ-HK YEP 2015, CCMF 2015 and Cyberport Incubation Programme intake(13,14 & 15) was also conducted before the dinner.

CSAA held a tailor-made training workshop for startups which especially targets those members in management positions on 18 November 2016 at Cyberport. Objective of the workshop is to train future managers on how to motivate staff coming from different backgrounds so to strive for the best of the team.

To reconnect CSAA alumni and incubates, CSAA has organized a reunion dinner at Chuen Cheung Kui on 30th September 2016. The participants have interacted with CSAA committees, Cyberport’s representatives and each other in order to share some good things such as making valuable connections, developing relationships, being a resource, increasing visibility and credibility under a relaxing atmosphere.

To facilitate all intern students getting to know each other and understand some expatiations on working in startup company, CSAA has organized an e+startup Internship Programme Orientation Workshop at Cyberport on 30 April 2016. Besides a sharing section by registered counselling psychologist, Dr Pang Lan-Sze and CSAA committee Mr. Andrew Pang, each intern student has introduced themselves and participated the ice breaking game – marshmallow challenge. Through this workshop, the interns understood more about startup culture and of course the intern students who will work in participated startup companies.

The 3rd CSAA Annual Gathering 205 was successfully organised at the Ballroom of Le Meridien Cyberport on 20 Nov evening. Davey Chung, Deputy Government Information Officer (Policy and Community) of Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) was the Guest of Honour. Some business partners, such as Graham Brant, Founder and CEO of G&H Brant Limited, Emil Chan, Vice President of Internet Professional Association and Leslie Yuen, CEO of Globalization Training Office, were also invited to join the event. Certificate presentation ceremony of 2015 e+startup internship programme was also conducted before the dinner.

To strengthen the connection between the alumni, CSAA organised a team building workshop at Cyberport on 20 Nov afternoon. Dr. Andrew Ma, Founder & Managing Director of Chorev Consulting International, a leadership training consultancy, was recruited to be the trainer of the workshop. “Marshmallow Challenge 2.0 and Mindfulness Retreat” is the topic of the workshop and it focuses on illustrating collaboration, facilitating leadership and understanding the effectiveness of mindfulness based on the latest neuroscience findings.
